But, where am I going exactly?

I'll shortly give an introduction about Zambia.
So you all know, 'where' and 'how' and 'what'.

Zambia (offcially: Republic of Zambia) is a republic in the south of Central-Africa. The surface is 752.614 km², and that makes Zambia about 25 times larger than Belgium.  

Zambia is completely surrounded by other countries and it's located between Congo, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibië and Angola.

The city where I will stay is Kabwe and is located 150 kilometre, or 2 hours, to the north from Lusaka. It is the capital city of the district 'central' in Zambia. In 2000 there were living 176.758 people in Kabwe.

These are all facts, next week around this time I will be getting on the plane, and then I'll tell you everything about the non factual Zambia!

Getting ready for Zambia

My ticket is booked, visa is on it's way, do I still have to pick up my creditcard?

All of these are the preparations I'm making for my trip to Zambia.
From 18 Februari until 28 April I'll be in Kabwe - Zambia for my final teacher training period!

I'm really looking forward to volunteering in the organisation 'Unisport'. I will be teaching sports lessons to children after school. Within these lessons there will be the opportunity to make the children aware of all kinds of social issues, like for example: preventing AIDS.

Every Wednesday I will be teaching English at Kabwe Highschool. I'm very curious to see the differences between their school systems and the European ones.

I think both of the teaching spots will be an opportunity to develop my teaching skills and my personality as a teacher and a human. I think that working in a country like Zambia will teach you to be more creative and inventive with the materials and options you have.

I'm really looking forward to it all!
